Valaire – Fresnes
The surroundings are quite undulating here, with successions of uphill and downhill in the middle of the fields. But the road is quite easy to cycle and with little traffic. Not long after Valaire, toward Monthou-sur-Bièvre, we pass in front of an old water mill, the opportunity to stop.
After Ouchamps, the area has little traffic roads and stony paths. Here again, we are surrounded by fields, sometimes vines and a few slopes.
About 2kms after Ouchamps, we arrive at a junction without road signs for the bikes. Fortunately, we meet a lady who indicates us the right way. So we have to turn right at this junction !
Fresnes – Fougères sur Bièvre
Then, the road continues on small paths in the forest until Feings.
Just before joining this town, the rain starts falling and we just have the time to put ourselves under cover and enjoy a break. But the shower doesn’t last and we go on our route until Fougères-sur-Bièvre on a path slightly busy.
Fougères sur Bièvre – Valaire
At Fougères-sur-Bièvre, we stop at the medieval castle. This one was built at the end of century XV, and it is possible to visit it. For more info : http://www.fougeressurbievre.fr/chateau.html
We go on our route toward Sambin, by taking roads in the middle of vines, and a few woods. On our route we also meet a hairy animal, a donkey !
At the end of the day, we’ve come full circle ! This ride has disappointed us, but this is also part of the adventure !
