1st Calligraphy course : Gothic textura

Last Saturday (19 February 2012), we have been to our first calligraphy course organized by Julien from Etrace et caetera. First, he has told us about calligraphy in general then we have moved on practical work.

He has chosen the Gothic textura script which is the easiest to dread for novices. After giving us a demonstration and explaining us the way to use the fountain pen, we have written the alphabet in small letters then in capital letters in order to become imbued with this way of writing.

The ink used is a natural ink made by himself with danewort berries.
