– Passing by the park of Chambord

We are leaving Blois early and in a good mood as always, on the way to the park and castle of Chambord. We start by going out of Blois and by taking the road toward Vineuil which, until now, is without interest. Once out of the town of Blois, we cycle on small countryside roads until Mont-près-Chambord and we fly to Chambord. Just before arriving, we stop by Villesavin’s castle for a while. After this break, we go on our road to Chambord’s park in which we cycle across the forest, shelter from the sun.

After crossing a good part of the park, here we are, the modest castle of Chambord taken by storm by the tourists. This is the place we choose to feed ourselves before going on in our amazing adventure.

We have the surprise to discover horse riders dressed with medieval clothes riding their horses, so we take this opportunity to immortalize this moment for ever.

After this little lunch break, we get on our bikes and go to Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire, by taking winding ways across the forest which make us turning round in circles due to a failure at reading maps. In other words, we came back unwittingly on our footsteps, or rather on our wheels following a path that was a loop. Anyway, a little bit farther and we manage to find our way in the middle of the brambles which block our path. Who says that cycling was restful ?
Later, we arrive at the village of Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire which offers us a funny entertainment. Indeed, a race of pedal cars is organised the same day, so we take this opportunity to make a break again and enjoy the unexpected entertainment.

The test when the amateurs face the semi-professionals takes place under a blazing sun and lasts 3 hours, we might as well say that getting fresh supplies to the entrants is crucial. But a picture is better than a long speech, especially if it’s boring …

After leaving our friends pedaler of a day, we go on alongside the Loire and cycle along the river for about 20 kilometres until Blois, where a fresh beer is waiting for us.
