After drinking a little beer, there’s nothing like a trip by bike to start a nice sunny day. Here we go, a little ride in Sologne at the beginning of the afternoon, from Blois.

We start the route by crossing the Loire on the Jacques Gabriel bridge to join the riverbank on the Blois Vienne side and follow the course of the Loire for a few kilometres, without really seeing it as it is on the other side of a barrier-road.
We go on our route in the middle of corn fields, well almost, toward Chailles. And when going out of the village, first bloomer, instead of taking the tarred road, we disappear into the gloomy forest of Russy. The reason ? A marking out of the route a bit weak. But well, adventure is adventure. On top of that, the path is very stony, but it’s not enough to stop guys like us, a flat tyre maybe !

We finally find the right route by rejoining the “allée Verte” (green lane), which, despite its name, is a bit more practicable than the previous path. Here we are, then, in the middle of the forest, a little picture break is necessary.

All right, let’s go ! Here we go again toward Cellettes, at the end of the forest, we arrive at Beauregard’s castle and we go on until Cellettes where runs, or rather is trying to run, the Beuvron. Why ? Have a look yourself :

It looks like a road but no, it is indeed the Beuvron

After Cellettes, the initial aim of the day was Cheverny but as it is quite late already, we go for plan B, which means Seur, yes sir ? The road goes on in the middle of the fields and a few woods on several kilometres and takes us to a stop. Here, we must take a part of a secondary road but fortunately with little traffic ! We arrive slowly at Seur by a small slope, and we stop for a little dive.

The big dive

The big dive

We go back on the road toward the forest of Russy once again and we disappear once more ! We reach the long lane of Seur, which takes us straight to Saint-Gervais la Forêt. Then, we arrive in town and get back to civilization and continue on the pavements. A last slope and by no means the least, and we get back to Blois where all we’ve got left to do is to hit the pedals a bit more in the middle of cars and pedestrians …
